First, thanks for a very nice piece of software.
Regarding bug 4138, clipboard behavior on Mac OS X with LyX 10.5.1.
I'd like to confirm the behavior.
Specifically, if any cut or copy operations have been made in LyX,
any cut or copies by external programs (e.g., TextEdit, Terminal,
NeoOffice) are not accessible. LyX only will let you paste the last
item copy/cut within LyX (or in the case of Paste Recent, the last N
items cut/copied within LyX).
However, if LyX has just started running, you *can* paste material
from external programs, until you make the first cut/copy within LyX.
However, before that first copy/cut within LyX, the external material
is not visible in the Paste Recent list (though it will get pasted).
And after that first copy/cut within LyX, the external material is
likewise not visible in the Past Recent list.
External programs can paste material cut/copied from within LyX,
apparently at any time.
(Some Mac-specific documentation on the LyX wiki at
http://wiki.lyx.org/Mac/Walkthrough mentions an internal and external
clipboard, but "Paste External Selection" is no longer an option in
1.5.1.)
