This wide stuff is really bad...
Yes, I think we should get rid of it now in trunk. The pixmap cache is
good enough that Mac plaftform don't need this hack anymore. Moreover I
plan to cleanup the rowpainter stuff so as to truly separate background
painting from text painting.
Any objection that I remove the wide hack now?
