My idea was that one could have also note:xxx to specify how different types of notes are shown. Is see the argument of InsetLayout as something that can directly be linked to things written in the xml lyx file. An hypothetical <note type="noun"> would lookup note::noun. It does not make much sense to index the insets layouts by their position in menus. JMarc
