Regarding the autotools system...it doesn't now seem possible to do this:
cd src/insets/
make Inset.o
or even:
cd src/
make src/Inset.o
The former gives a slew of errors starting with:
Inset.cpp:15:20: error: config.h: No such file or directory
and the latter complains thusly:
insets/Inset.cpp:391: fatal error: opening dependency file
.deps/insets/Inset.Tpo: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.
Am I doing something wrong? Or is there a problem here? It's very
inconvenient not to be able to compile just the one file.

I have the same experience. André says: configure for using qmake instead ;-/
OK, thanks. I'm sure this work Andre is doing will be beneficial, but
right now it is giving me a headache.
