Yes -- definitely a good idea. One less thing to forget about when
producing the binaries....

And what should be doe about lyxrc.dist?

I meant it's a good idea to do both. I think both instances of "LyX-1.5" can be autogenerated -- setting the \serverpipe and \template_path.
