As far as I can see, the conclusion is that the numbering scheme as such is not that important. The main thing is to communicate which ever system is used. So, would anybody be kind enough to go through our different files and documents and provide a list of places where we mention the versioning system? Alternatively, just fix it all up to describe the current system, and then submit a patch. I'm sure such a patch would be accepted with thanks. If you decide to change to a different system, the chance of immediate acceptance is lower, because you would also have to convince at least five people that it is sound. Greets, Asger
