You'll need to retrieve the latest version of the code with svn (look at
http://www.lyx.org/devel/cvs.php for more details). Then something like
"svn apply xxx.patch" should do the trick. I am on Windows so I don't
use those command myself.
By the way, I was looking in the archive and this thread initiated by
you seems to indicate that Jose planned to support this thanks to python:
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.editors.lyx.devel/73028
So I guess it is better to wait for Jose input on this before doing
anything else.
