It's more intricated than this, I simply can't declare an empty 
\document_path, LyX wants to set it to the current dir and leaves
it there as soon as I open the Tools->Preferences->Path menu,
but I want to have it undefined.
Is this still possible ? If not, it's a regression w.r.t. 1.4 IMHO?

BTW, exploring the Tools->Preferences->Path menu, I cannot set the
temporary file: the popup opens, but remains frozen with blank fields.
I wonder if this is related to the error messages mentioned earlier in
this thread ?
