Well, if the command is named \caption then it will be some sort of caption. I don't see any problem if the caption inset is used in this case. After all, if the command does for example have a different number of arguments, then tex2lyx would not translate it. There is one small chance for something going wrong: If the document class does not have the caption style not even in 1.4, and the .tex contains a \caption command, then an invalid file will be generated. But that is really a small problem IMO. Georg
