Well, we'll rely on that the day when babel supports it...
Unfortunately the support is very limited right now.

I agree that at the end, this should be done by babel.

Yes, I think we have a problem to get locales working correctly on the
mac. This is something I am trying to work on now.

Then I'm not able to figure out why it is only a Mac related issue... I let the specialist at home ;)
