you provided a reproducable way to crash lyx (being the responsible
grown-up you are ;) let's see whether abdel or someone else can fix it.
So the only sensibly solution is to disable
the feature.
i am sure that everybody involved, abdel included, will agree with you
that this is necessary if it makes lyx unstable, but it is a slightly
more collective call than yours only. we have for example a very nice
release manager.

but we can do that easily in the last minute when we release 1.5final,
so why the rush?
