Hello,
I am not often working with tables in LyX, but I noticed two usability issues
when inserting rows or columns:
1) I searched first in table settings (opened on right click on table), then
used google to find it in the edit menu.
2) I inserted a row a time, inserting 10 rows was quite inefficient (maybe I
just did not find the right shortcut)
Thanks,
Rainer
As of version 1.4.I-forget-which, there is now a tool bar for table
operations. You can toggle it on or off from View->Toolbars..., and
there is also an "auto" setting (I think it's the default in 1.5.0beta)
that automatically displays the tool bar when the cursor is inside a
table and hides it when the cursor is not inside a table. The first
four tool buttons let you add/delete rows and columns.
As far as adding 10 rows at a time, speed-clicking the add row button is
not as fast as an option to insert multiple rows would be, but it beats
wandering up to the edit menu 10 times. The issue of changing the
number of rows by more than one at a time has been raised before, at
least on the user list. I don't know if anyone entered an enhancement
request in bugzilla or not.
