If you run lyx2lyx from the build dir instead of the source dir you have to
add an environment variable to be able to run it:
$ PYTHONPATH=../../lyx/lyx-devel/lib/lyx2lyx/ src/lyx&
Where path points to the source dir.
The other option is to test the attached patch. Does it works for you?
I cant do a useful test of the patch right now. I did a "make install"
of the current source, and the problem just went away.
I'll try if this starts happening again though.
Even my own .layout works .
