Hi all, I just generated some output for the first time using a stack of BibTeX citations. In the past I always keyed them into the LyX document - assume no experience on my part.
I found the citations way out of numerical order in the generated output. I thought the point of using BibTeX is that it orders them for you in the order they are first cited in your document, but at the expense of running LaTeX and BibTeX a few times to get it consistent. The bibliography is however listed in numerical order, but the assigned numbers are not in order of citation. Is this broken, never worked, my misunderstanding, forgot to set a flag, ..?
