I built Qt4.2.3 from source exactly as described in INSTALL.MacOSX.
(I even literally used "/path/to/QT4" as the destination.) Here are
some lines from the configure script. It seems to find some things in
the Qt4 tree but not others.

I tried using:
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/path/to/Qt4/lib/pkgconfig/
It didn't help. In fact my Qt4 tree contains not such directory!

Scott,
Which version did you try to install?
Did you compile QT or installed a binary? If compiling did you do the
install part? Did you the give the *absolute* path to the QT-binary
(i.e. not the source directory)?
That's all I can think off... (I got a similar error some month, but
then it was due to a lack of -framework Cocoa which you have
included)
