Personally I encountered this problem through equation-labelling: 1.1.4
put a (#) as the default ('empty') label for equations, and silenty
ignored the latex errors. Apparently lyx files with equations numbered
this way don't work [am I right?]. Perhaps we should mention this problem
specifically.
