Bennett, can you confirm this (or am I doing something really stupid...)?

I can confirm. I'm sure I can work around it to produce a binary (make -k), but it should be fixed in the sources so that others can try to compile as well.

(I'm on dial-up today; I just finished downloading beta 3. I won't be able to upload binaries to my server until Monday. My plan is to put a universal binary in a .dmg together with a new installer that I want people to test.)
