Hi!

Just a long-shot, but could you check to see if the preference "Language Settings -> Language -> Right-to-left language support" is checked, and if so --- try unchecking it, and see if you cans till reproduce the bugs.

You got it in one :) I'll add a bugzilla comment.

I've been following this bug for a few days now ;) ...

The left selecting across lines bug went away with it unchecked, and
then came back again with it checked.

I'll keep testing and let you know if any other weirdness persists.
Please let me know when you have a patch you want me to test.

Yes, there's a known bug right now with cursor movement at the beginning of the line when RTL is turned on. I've been working on a patch for the past few days, it would be great if you could test it out (I know it solves the original problem, what I don't know is what new problems it introduces). It's the patch attached to this message: http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.editors.lyx.devel/83713

Abdel --- I don't know if this was already done, but if not, we should revert the RTL default setting until we fix up the crashes there (which I'm working on, but keep running into new issues...).

I upgraded from 1.4.x to 1.5.0svn and it was checked so presumably it is
set by default.

If you un-check it in svn though then how are us beta testers going to
catch this sort of thing? Maybe hold that until the final release.

True. If you're willing to sustain the possible crashes, it would be great if you could continue working with this option on,even if we do turn it off in the next beta release.

Thanks!
Dov

Have fun,
Darren
