I would if I could - I have only used LyX once in the last year or so,
which means I have no idea about what new features there might be.
However, looking at SVN, I can for instance see that:
* Reference.lyx - last updated a year ago...
* FAQ.lyx - last updated a year ago...
I assumed that 'UserGuide.lyx' is still the main document for users, so I
looked at the revision log and it hasn't really been changed that much in
the last 12 months AFAICT.
Much of the material there is still valid. :-)
Contributing to documentation is easier than code - because one can
spend 10min now and then writing a paragraph about one little feature.
Even that will help. :-)
I agree.
But how do we find a list of the features that are in the code but not in
the documentation?
Is there a reasonably easy way to get a list of new features? The release
notes or announcements?
Well don't tell anyone but I compiled those from the wiki pages. ;-)
Thanks, looking here:
http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX.NewInLyX15
there's at least a list of some differences. And the guilty partys are
hopefully still around... Here's the TOC from that page:
Unicode
Integrated CJK support
Multiple views of the same buffer
Outliner and embedded TOC
Session managment
Source code Viewer
New Font Selection Interface
Tabular extensions
Glossaries
Listings
Tabbed Widget
Enhanced Math Toolbars
Frontend News
Change tracking enhancements
Converter file cache
Minor user interface improvements
Under the hood
I'll start by asking if anyone has added anything about any of the
above to the documentation? :-)
