I think this is a very clever approach. Nowadays 99%  of modern
program supports Unicode and thus RTL out of the box.

By the way, it is close to impossible to edit this file when the "RTL
support" option is not set. I don't think there's any sensible
performance penalty with this setting so I would like to remove it once
and for all.
