What about that: - define a new "minibuffer" type for auto toolbars - when pressing M-x; arrange to have "minibuffer" on - when pressing enter of escape, set "minibuffer" to false. Would it be enough to be sure that the existing autotoolbars scheme makes the minibuffer toggle on/off as needed? JMarc
