I am left with a some questions though.
Why can I not automate the math_panels toolbar in the same way as the
math toolbar? I tried in lib/ui/default.ui with no success.
Would it be a good idea to have a single check item "automatic
toolbars" that turns them all off or on? You either love them or hate
them. Or your machine's processing capacity or bandwidth loves them or
hates them, as everything gets redrawn as you move around.
The manual toolbars on/off sub-menu would then only appear if automatic
is disabled.
Currently we have a funny mix of things that can be set through the GUI
and other things that need to be done in the config file.
I think it would be a good idea indeed. I don't like this three state
menu item for automatic toolbar. An option in the preference settings
"Enable context sensitive toolbars" would be nice.
