I understand that and I should probably make the same decision someday.
If you can find some free time, I would only request that you finish the
CJK LateX support (bug 3043) as I really don't think I could do it. Or
perhaps JMarc or Enrico could finish it?

It is really not that much to do: Basically testing, and maybe moving the
output of \begin{CJK} and \end{CJK} to other places (but if that is needed
it will be tricky to get the nesting right). For example, we could run into
the same problems as with \inputencoding in sections.
Then I don't know: Did I choose the right encodings for the new languages?
Also the code is a bit unclean sometimes (e.g. the mutable members of
Encoding).
It would be best if somebody who knows the CJK package well could finish the
patch. I believe that the current code is well documented. If any question
concerning it arises feel free to ask for help, but I don't want to gather
all the needed CJK knowledge myself.

OK, thanks for the additional info.

Iwami, Alain, Cghan, this is your last chance to get proper CJK support in LyX before 1.5.0. After that, file format change will be forbidden!

Abdel.
