No, i think "your" bug is exactly a subset of the problem. In fact what is described there is a
general mechanism in 1.4.x: when pressing backspace at the beginning of a cell (is this the correct
terminus?), then the surrounding stuff is removed and replaced by the contents of the cell.
Curios, both Bugs are reported by Andre, one is against this feature, the other
one wants it back ;-)
Why i really need this backspace behavior? I often derive equations step by step directly in lyx -
and using copy/paste and _this missing feature_ makes it a strong tool for that. Deriving equations
means changing formulas and not writing then new line by line. Without this feature it is a pain.
