That fixed the implicit encoding conversions.
I suggest committing this patch before the next beta.
Unfortunately it is not finished yet. Before this can go in we need to
decide what to do with the kmap files: Keep the LaTeX commands or switch
to UCS4 code points?
What are the pros and cons?
I personally tend to think that using ucs4 code points makes more sense.
Especially if one day we switch to sth else than LateX...
