release level?

That depends on how the release manager views it. The big advantage is that *any* contributor can start hacking right away without having to go through the lengthy process of recognition and blablabla...


Or is a spider in the middle of the net required?

Of course a main repository is required but the advantage is that we can easily change from one to another without fearing the bus thing.
