Because a simple make would abort otherwise. > You can test installs by using "make DESTDIR=/tmp/install install", > combined with 'make distcheck' I did not want to spend too much time with this, because I did not break the Makefile.am and I don't agree with the new name, but now I did it. It did indeed not install correctly, but that is now fixed. make distcheck does fail (unrelated to this), because I used a version suffix. Georg
