Hi Jean-Pierre,
I've also thought it'd be nice to be able to place the layout file
somewhere else. At least it'd be nice if you could have it in the same
directory as the lyx file. The drawback I see is that LyX currently
requires a reconfigure to scan for layout files, and maybe that causes
problems.
