José, all,

I just wanted to tell you that I completed my work on plain text output. Unless I find a new bug, I won't touch this part of the code anymore. Of course, a lot of things are still subject to optimization (e.g., correct line indentation, label translation based on par language etc.) but plain text output has become good enough for my purposes (= grammar checking with MS Word) and line breaking has improved a lot.

The next thing on my personal agenda is the dvipost->changebar replacement. I will look for a patch that is simple enough for getting accepted by you for the next beta :-) Since the first beta has not been announced yet, I guess there is no need to hurry. Expect something by the end of the week.

Ah, and then there are 527 bugs left (an all-time high?): http://tinyurl.com/y7hdzc

I think we have to fix at least the most critical and most annoying ones for 1.5.0 final. For instance, my productivity is really weakened by #2843. Maybe we should make the 1.5.0 release dependent on the number of bugs. ATM, we can't fix bugs at the same rate as they get uncovered - and beta 1 hasn't even been announced...

BTW: Is there anybody out there using change tracking? What is your experience? Anything that needs to be fixed? Any mystic behaviour?

Best regards,
Michael
