Project suggestions that come to my mind:

* Change file format to something XML-based (ODT even, maybe)
* Finish GTK frontend
* ... your suggestion here ...

* export to ODF and to html
* import from TeX (re-use of tex2lyx parsing inside LyX code).
* context menu with right-click
* redirect optionally lyxerr to a QTextEdit (and get rid of the console)
