Another user has this problem too. I made a lot of tests the last days together
with this user but I'm still not able to reproduce it.
Many users replied me that it works fine on Win2000, WinXP and I verified that it runs without problems on various WinXP computers and also
under WinXP x64.
I spend hours to find the problem, perhaps it's a Qt4 bug, because my builds for LyX 1.4.3 (that uses Qt3) compiled on the same system works
fine for the user who reported the same bug as you.
What we found out while testing is a problem of LyX's configure file but this was not the reason for the problem with starting lyx.exe - we'll
try to fix this anyway.
