If you change all @VAR@ to $VAR$ or vise vesa, autotools may have to
be changed as well, so ask Georg first. Scons handled both cases with
a little bit work.

I wanna change %VAR% to @[EMAIL PROTECTED]
Just change the rule to generate package.C at the bottom of
src/support/Makefile.am too. Then I don't see any problem. %VAR% was just
an arbitrary choice by Angus AFAIK.
