Do the following: 1)create a new document 2)enter a few characters/words 3)press return 4)from the environments combo box on the top left corner select anything: like part, section, address, etc. 5)try to enter text: you can't! But worse: 6)clik on the previous paragraph with mouse to change the focus: lyx crashes. If you save and quit instead, when you reopen the document, you can enter text. But if you try the above again, it crashes of course.
This happens on Windows XP Srvice pack 2. I compiled lyx svn repository (today: it should be recent enough) with MSVC 2005 professional edition, via scons.
