When I am not interested in converting math formulas, I obtain satisfactory
results using wvCleanLatex from the wvWare project:

I compiled it on cygwin, but I think that you can also find a native
port at the URL above. Once you have wvCleanLatex in the PATH, simply
reconfigure LyX and you should obtain a "MS Word" option in the
File->Import menu.
