With all the current optimizations, 1.4.3 is still more than twice as
fast as 1.5 when scrolling the user guide on my system. The build

Isn't that bad here:
official release 1.4.3: 20s
cmake/Release 1.5svn : 28s
It is better here (without my local optimisation):
1.4.3: 22s
1.5svn: 18s
This is with Qt4.1.3, maybe Qt4.2 is the problem?
