I put it in Extended.lyx, because the index is documented there and
UserGuideNV.lyx is nothing official yet.

Nice..

I did some testing and changes and put it in.
I discovered that the latest version of the nomencl package has a chnaged
interface, therefore I used that instead of the old one. It is possible to
support the old one, too, but I don't think that is is worth the effort.

Yes, I know it has changed. However, it is quite new and some
distributions (like my SuSe 10.1) still contains the older version. As
far as I know, the reason why the \printglossary command has changed
is that it conflicts with the same command in gloss (and maybe other)
package(s). Both versions of nomencl accept the old command, therefore
I wanted to be in the safe side by using old commands.

Thwe nomencl stuff is not completely finished yet. For example, the docbook
export is missing (I did not want you to remove the commented stuff, but
actually implement it!), and we need an icon for the toolbar. I also get
warnings like

Well, I don't know what the docbook is and why we export to it.. I
have red the glossary entry and I have the same draft version with
yours, but I didn't want to send some code that I don't know if it is
working or not. A version without docbook support is still sensible,
because:

- Lyx-1.5 is about to be feature freeze. Therefore, new format change
will not be allowed till lyx-1.6.
- LyX main focus is LaTeX not docbook. This is not a showstopper for
docbook, either.
- Docbook glossaries not that straightforward, as I see.
- I will not be available after 25th of this month for between 5 to 12
months. I don't know if I can still have energy to update from for so
many months and add docbook support.
- Since I won't be available, it would be nice that this goes in trunk
and when xml port is in the works, somebody process it in the batch.

In short, I propose to add a bug entry to bugzilla about docbook
glossary export is not working, put a warning in the documentation and
let somebody interested in it puts that feature.

QWidget::setMinimumSize: (QNomenclUi/lyx::frontend::QNomenclDialog)
Negative sizes (-1,-1) are not possible

on the console.

I don't have it here.. What is your warning flags.

Please have a look at these issues before you do any further multiindex
work. What I put in is usable as is, but I would prefer to finish it
completely before adding more new stuff.

Georg

I am doing my best to fulfill the requirements. I have already
finished the multiindex stuff, but I am cleaning up the things for a
couple of days. As I said I won't be available for a long time, and am
in kind of a hurry. Therefore, If that source have some glitches here
and there, please forgive me and just put it in the trunk or an
experimental branch.

By the way, Thanks a lot for your effort on my code.

Ugras
