there is also a lot of painting going on when selecting text:
- when selecting a word the whole screen is repainted
- the screen is repainted even when the selection does not change
(moving the mouse with the left button pushed down always triggers a
repaint)
sorry for the noise if these are known issues ...
The mouse events in GuiWorkArea should be reviewed to see whether there
are superfluous calls to WorkArea::redraw().
