Hi, Laurent. If only it were that simple! The current way we do things is the result of real world experience when we did do as you suggest. It too doesn't coever all bases. What we really need is an intelligent package manager that gives the user real control over where to put individual packages and what options to use. Those used by LyX wouldn't be "deletable" but could be "moveable". Angus
