The very reason why the trunk have been instable is unicode. All the new
features and cleanups did not destabilize the trunk one tenth as much as
unicode did.
Don't get me wrong, I think unicode is a good think to have (and I have
participated in the transition) but please put everything into context.
I don't want history to be rewritten.
