I don't think the situation is that dramatic. IMHO, instead of trying to fix the bugs, you should first review the last days commit. Cut&Paste and undo/redo did work correctly last week-end. I am at least sure of that. I have seen lots of commits touching Paragraph lately...

Other work has to wait, including performance work.

In a situation where LyX becomes worse every other day, we can not afford the luxury of setting an ambitious goal for the release. We will have to disappoint some people's expectations for the sake of not loosing the progress that has been made.
Well, I would dare to say that Unicode, Qt4 and Multiple-window are not going to disappoint people's expectation...
