We can also not assure that all packages are the latest stable ones because there is no complete MiKteX version that could be downloaded. So we won't do this. To assure that you have all packages installed, install MiKTeX with its net installer and choose there "complete". For this you need of course an internet connection but only once. If you absolutely have no access to the internet, donate the MIKTeX people 5 $ and you get a CD with all packages: http://www.miktex.org/Donation.aspx (this service is currently not available)
What are the status of dvipost and latex-preview? They are needed for the essential features of lyx: change-tracking and instant preview. Last time I check, they are not part of miktex. Bo
