Hello,
Have tested the recent lyx-1.1.5cvs from Sylvan's site, and decided
to give some feed-back. Seems like 1.1.5 is going to be a good release!
(I am looking forward to an official lyx-1.1.5pre1. It is easier to give
feed-back
on a release which is not constantly changing).
Have enyoed the use of pybliographer and lyx-1.1.2.
Insertion of referenxes are real fun! It goes directly and I have to
admit that this feature give me some kicks!
However, in the lyx-1.1.5cvs (from Sylvan's site) this feature is diluted.
I can insert a references from pybliographer, but i get a "lyx insert citation
pop-up menu"
Ofcourse I can insert the reference from the pop-uped lyx menu.
I would very much appreciate if you could allow for an optional configuration,
in the upcoming versions where the user could switch "the new configuration"
to the old one. Is there any way this can be done in the lyxrc file?
I completely agree that the new version, where the lyx-pop-up meny is poping up
between the insertion
from pybliographer, is more idiot-proof. (In the old version it was possible to
do insertions from a bib-file that was not
in the bibtex-reference list?). Anyway, I like the old way more.
The advantage with the old version is that I can sort & search the bib-file, as I
like from
pybliographer and then insert the reference. Therefore, I can have one big
bib-file as a database for
my writings for each branch of projects. With the new versions of lyx it is
more convenient to chop the
bib-file to smaller files. That has its pros an cons.
Finally, I've found the enabling the \serverpipe in lyxrc very useful,
if one is using any user-frienldly bibtex programs such as Pybliographer,
gbib, tkbibtex or any other program of the kind.
Best,
Staffan
