I don't use windows (standard disclaimer :-) ). I have not seem any
complaint about this either here or in the users mailing list.
Did the problem persist after uninstalling and installing again?
Only when I took a different install.

How does lyx fails? Does not launch?
Yes, that first time the cli came up and died before I could see anything
(From memory there was a pop up about not being able to run a ... script?)
