Today i tried to copy and paste a math formula in lyx 1.4.3, and some
part of it was missing in the result. as i have not installed lyx on my
home computer i try to remember it correctly: i think it was "x{y}^{z}".
if you copy this (without the quotes) and paste it into any math
environment then the y is missing in the result. i had a more
complicated formula i wanted to copy and paste and tracked the error
down to this.

I cannot reproduce this. Please provide a detailed step by step procedure
when you are at the right computer again.

I was able to reproduce it two different ways. In one case, I typed 'x{y}^{z}' in a LyX document as plain text, copied it to the clipboard, created an empty math inset, clicked into the inset and pasted the text in. In the other case, I copied it from Bernhard's e-mail message and pasted it into an empty math inset (using the middle button). The LyX source code had 'x{}^{z}' in the math inset, i.e., the braces were there but y was gone.
