That part is true.
Abdel wanted qt4 because mingw is too slow.
Man, you are rewriting history ;-)
For the record. I started with mingw and stayed with it a long time
until Bo provided scons. Mingw is very slow for Qt3 but is usable for Qt4.
Now that 1.4 is on the
verge of being build with msvc on windows, the argument falls. And I
think it took less work to make 1.4 work with msvc than to make a
brand new frontend (of course the fun factor is lower).
But we all now by now that Abdel's style is to rewrite everything from
scratch when a bug or syntax error makes him stall for more than one
day :)
