1. Need option to overwrite files without a dialog option. Often, when you
select "export pdf" it takes a while to generate the pdf, so the error dialog
for "overwrite file?" pops up and gets lost among your windows. Some options
somewhere should allow for default overwrite of files without error dialog.

2. Integration of wmf2eps. I have used this to save powerpoint slides to
"Windows Meta File" into decent eps versions for use in latex. It mostly works,
but I have seen oddness with aspect ratio and geometry, but for simple slides it
works nicely.

3. Integration of csv2tex. This could be useful to make tables from excel /
OO.org. I use it manually, but it could be a slick tool, a table import
option.

4. Increased templates and class files. Adding class files and new templates
can be difficult for new and intermediate users. At least on the XP bundle, why
not include every class file that has a lyx template? HD space is cheap. Maybe
some added functionality is needed to allow users to select what 5-10 classes
are shown by default, as there are a ton of them currently.

5. Increase number of text style heading options shown. Currently, it uses the
default for the QT drop-down box, 10. I find myself scrolling all the time. I
would suggest a config option buried somewhere to show all of the options, from
"standard" all the way to "Caption".

6. Integration with prosper/ps tricks. You can do slick powerpoint type pdf
presentations with nice colors and animation, but it Lyx could be improved to
easilty work with these. Probably just a template is needed, but again you need
prosper and ps tricks installed properly and that can be a pain in some cases.

I will put these into bugzilla, but I thought I would post here as well and see
what comments come up.

Thanks to all the developers for many years of LyX. I have written a thesis,
two books, and many many papers with it since I started with it in '98 or so.
Now that the XP package works easily, I have tried to push my technical
colleagues into LyX. Thank you so very much.
