I have found what I think is a 'feature', probably in all versions of
lyx... ( I have tried 1.01, 1.04, 1.1.4 and 1.1.5cvs 30/3/00), on three
different machines (suse 6.0, redhat 6.0, and 6.1) and they all do the
same.
The problem occurs when there are a large number of tables in sucession,
as in the appendix of part of my thesis! The lyx document looks fine,
but when I select view postscript (or view dvi!) 1.0.4 complains that
there are errors in the tables and does not make the postscript, 1.1.4
makes the postscript but puts some of the last tables on the bottom
right of the first page between the 2nd and 3rd table. The tables are
half off the paper. and 1.1.5cvs just throws up loads of errors !!!
I realise that this is a little hard to describe in words, you have to
see the output to know what I mean ;),
I have put a postscript file here (59148 bytes) for people to see
http://dimebar.essex.ac.uk/lyx-bug.ps
I also have a lyx file that can reproduce this 'feature'. The file
contain data which I would like to publish, although I am sure nobody
here would dream of using my work, I am a little cautious of sending the
file directly to the lyx-devel list. So if somebody working on lyx would
like the file I am happy to send it directly to them, just drop me a
line..
I had a quick look at the lyx code to see if I could fix it myself, but
I am afraid it is way beyond my capabilities, now if it was written in
Java it would be a different story ;)..
Thanks
Neill
