LyX and supress LaTeX errors

Some LyX files which produce Postscript output
without a hiccup, when exported to LaTeX yields
.tex files that will not compile without repeated
halts complaining of overfull mboxes.

These errors can be bypassed with repeated 
(annoying) manual return key hits, but how does
LyX tell LaTeX to ignore them?  What can I
do to bypass them, compiling the .tex files
outside of LyX?
