The reason we do that is that we certainly cannot check whether each and every version has the functions we want, meaning that some code has to be duplicated depending on the version. Thanks for the patch anyway. You are welcome to mintain a separate patch to compile LyX under older xforms versions, but we'd rather not have it in the main distribution. BTW, what is the reason why you want to compile with 0.81? Is 0.88 not supported on the platform yu use? JMarc
