No, I had a (at the time) good reason to not remove it from the
repository, but I can't remember what is was now...

Perhaps HEAD is not a good tag to merge against.

Actually I do most of the development off-line in a checked out copy
of the main trunk... and I (try to) only commit after I have finished
the new module/feature/thingie ...
